In order to help make sure you are not left with a boiler unsatisfactorily serviced, here are the main things an engineer should be checking and boiler servicing:

Gas pressure and flow rate is correct.
Safety devices are working correctly.
Internal main components are not showing signs of damage or corrosion.
Flue and combustion gases are safe and fall within permitted levels.
Various seals within the boiler are intact.
Water and gas pipework-make sure there are no leaks.
Electrical connections are properly made.

The importance of carrying out yearly servicing of your boiler cannot be over-stated. In the same way as a car needs to be serviced regularly, or your dentist needs to check your teeth, so too does your boiler and any other gas appliance in your home.

All too often we are called out to boilers which have not been properly maintained and the result is that homeowners are often left with substantial repair costs, or even having to replace boilers, which could have been avoided had regular maintenance have been carried out.

Changes to Building Regulations

Please be aware that the new building regulations now require a system water test completed at every boiler service. Our service includes a 20 point check to ensure your boiler runs at its best. If the heating system has been well maintained, further work should not be necessary. 
 
However, if further work, parts or treatment is required. Our helpful boiler experts will advise you on what could improve energy efficiency or avoid future breakdowns. This comprehensive service will help keep your energy bills down and extend the life of your boiler.

We recommend boiler cover to help ensure your boiler is covered to help you avoid those cold nights and freezing showers. We’ll make sure your boiler is in top working condition all year round with our annual service. Having your boiler serviced annually also keeps your warranty valid. That means if you have any issues with the boiler, you’ll be covered by your warranty and won’t have to pay for any repairs. An annual check can also ensure that your boiler is as energy-efficient as possible.
If Avenue Heating have installed the boiler, we will offer you the service plans as part of the installation.
If, however, Avenue Heating have not installed the boiler, we will require to complete a pre-plan Building regulations inspection. This will be a free of charge service when booked with our Standard Boiler Service. If all is as expected, we will offer a suitable service plan.

If you are sure that there is nothing obvious at fault, please call the Avenue Heating Energy team for further help & support.
Most of the time, we can help get you up and running via a phone or video call. From that call, we would advise the next action. We may come round to inspect further or immediately recommend a manufacturer call out.
If your boiler is still under warranty, the manufacturers’ repair would be free of charge. If your boiler is no longer under warranty, we will quote to repair the boiler or recommend a manufacturer’s repair.

If, however, Avenue Heating have not installed the boiler, we will require to complete a pre-plan Building regulations inspection. This will be a free of charge service when booked with our Standard Boiler Service.
