Warming homes in Watford and Herts since 2017
When your boiler stops working, it’s more than just an inconvenience, no heating, no hot water, and added stress. That’s where Avenue Heating can help.
We support customers across Watford, Radlett, St Albans, and the wider Hertfordshire area, handling everything from error codes and unusual noises to complete boiler breakdowns.
Our engineers are trained to work with all major boiler brands, including Vaillant and Worcester Bosch, and we carry the tools and quality parts needed to resolve most issues on the first visit.
Whether it’s a minor fault or something more serious, you can count on Avenue Heating to get your system back up and running safely and efficiently.
We believe in giving every customer clear, expert advice. When you book a boiler breakdown visit with us, one of our experienced heating engineers will carry out a full diagnosis to find the fault. If we can resolve the issue during that first visit, without needing any parts, we’ll get your heating and hot water back on straight away, no unnecessary delays, no hassle.
Recognising when you require a boiler service versus a heating repair is vital. Boiler servicing, akin to a car’s MOT, is an annual check-up for safety, efficiency, and performance, including replacing specified parts as instructed by the manufacturer. Mainly, a boiler service is preventive, catching issues before they happen!
Boiler repairs, however, are required when a breakdown occurs and your boiler stops producing heating or hot water. Our standard boiler servicing and “Cosy Plan” service plan does not cover repairs or faulty boilers, focusing instead on preventive maintenance.
Sometime's its simple, but sometimes you need a professional
Not sure if you need a boiler repair? Before calling us out, take a look at our simple first checklist. A few quick checks might help you spot the issue or at least give you a better idea of what’s going on. And if you’re still unsure, we’re always here to help.
Make sure your boiler has power and the fuse hasn’t tripped, it’s a simple check that can often save a callout.
Check that your boiler’s water pressure is at the correct level, low pressure can stop your heating from working properly.
Check if you’re getting hot water from your taps. If not, it could help pinpoint where the problem is.

Check if other gas appliances, like your hob, are working. This helps confirm if there’s a gas supply issue.
Please take these guide pricing with a pinch of salt!
All boiler manufacturers’ pricing varies from each other, and sometimes there may be multiple different fans, pumps, valves and gaskets priced differently from each other. We have provided this list as a guideline to help you understand why some repairs are quite affordable and some hurt the bank.
